A friend has sent you a link to the following article: http://hawaiicam.com/index.php/hawaiicam/comments/86/ Hawaii’s beaches are known the world over as some of the best beaches on the planet. Every year Hawaii beaches rank in the Top 10. Everyone’s Top 10, often at Number One, even on Dr. Beach’s list where a #1 can’t repeat on the list. If you’ve been to Hawaii or live in Hawaii, you have a favorite beach. What’s it gonna be? For those in the know, Waikiki’s beaches are not the best in Hawaii. Frankly, they’re not good for much except tourists. Of course, that’s where the people are so all the beaches that make up Waikiki will get votes. On Oahu, Lanikai is considered a top beach and there’s seldom anyone there. Two rough and raw beaches dot the highway along Oahu’s eastern coast; Sandy’s Beach (dangerous because of the shore break), and Makapuu (rough and gentle, sometimes on the same day). For the surfer’s, Pipeline, Sunset Beach and Waimea Bay will be on the list and get their share of votes, although there are few surfers at Waimea, and winter is the best time for Pipeline and Sunset Beach. And crowds. On the neighbor islands there’s a handful of very classy beaches. The Kaanapali side of Maui, Hapuna on the Big Island, and Poipu on Kauai. The Big Island has the most beaches and the most shoreline and the most number of colors of beach sand. Oahu is where most visitors go, though, so that’s the target for most popular beach in Hawaii. Waikiki, Ala Moana, East Oahu, North Shore. Vote away, my friend. To vote for your favorite Hawaii beach, all you have to do is Click Here.
