A friend has sent you a link to the following article: http://hawaiicam.com/index.php/hawaiicam/comments/22/ Honolulu is a city of varied tastes and a varied people who love to taste. So, where’s the best place in town to eat out? Is it Bubba Gumps at Ala Moana? How about the venerable 3660 on the Rise in Kaimuki? Check out the list and vote for your favorite… There’s no accounting for taste, so I’ve prepared a list of my favorite restaurants. Of course, no list is complete without a few, uh, well, controversial locales. Everyone’s “Best” list will have Orchid’s, or 3660 on the Rise. No surprise there, right? And John Dominis? If you can afford it, it’s great. It’s even better when you head down on Saturday morning for a listen to the Perry and Price show broadcast on KSSK-FM. “Honolulu has plenty of restaurants from to choose, and a wide variety of tastes.”Nevertheless, Honolulu has plenty of restaurants from to choose, and a wide variety of tastes. And the all important credit card depletion factor. Roy’s and Alan Wong’s have no problem holding their own with the other classy places. How about the lower end of the scale? Bubba Gump’s? You’re kidding, right, Annie? That’s just fries, burgers, and shrimp, yeah? Not so fast. They got ribs. Good ribs. Fast service. Some of the best fries in town. And, did I mention the shrimp? So I put the on the list. Sue me. “3660 on the Rise doesn’t have a 4 foot wide TV screen and 10 theatres next door.”Now, how about Dave & Buster’s? That’s another one of those mainland chain restaurants and they can’t really compete with Russell Siu’s 3660 on the Rise, can it? Well, it’s not the same kind of food. D&B’s got good ribs and fries, too. And 3660 on the Rise doesn’t have a 4 foot wide TV screen and 10 theatres next door. Case closed. OK, get your mouse warmed up and ready to click.
