Once you've tasted a fine resort on Maui, the Hilo Hukilau becomes a faded memory.
I can’t picture Waylon Jennings staying at a Hyatt. The original Ramblin’ Man (may he rest in peace) would have been more comfortable at the Hilo Hukilau, although I’m sure he never stayed there. 4,000 weddings performed on Maui? How many will touch?
Assuming they’re still marrying just two people per wedding, that’s also 4,000 weddings. And a lot of rice. However, this story is really about weddings on Maui from Romantic Maui Weddings and Honeymoons—4,000 couples since 1988. That’s 15 years. That’s 266 weddings a year. Someone answer the question: Why do Hawaii pineapples cost more than anywhere else?
Food in Hawaii is usually expensive—except for rice and certain local vegetables, more expensive than most other places in the US. Shopping for food, though, is pretty much the same all over.
