There’s something that’s just not right about going to a theatre and not being able to eat popcorn. I mean, that’s just what you’re supposed to do, right? Not at Hawaii Theatre. Four years and a $28-million renovation means the popcorn and Cokes and candy bars are gone forever. Here’s why. read more » Thursday, March 18, 2010
Restaurant owners beware: If I visit, you'll go out of business.
Normally, you don’t want to argue with someone who buys ink by the barrel. I suppose that’s how they buy ink over at the Honolulu Advertiser (Hawaii’s largest daily newspaper). Each year they rank Hawaii’s Best 150 Restaurants according to readers and Advertiser critics. Is there a better way? read more » Tuesday, December 15, 2009

Anyone who bought land 125 years ago and kept it in the family.
Diamond Head, is Honolulu's most recognizable attraction. Kapiolani Park sits below Diamond Head and next to Waikiki. It was Hawaii’s first public park as of 1877. King Kalaukaua named the park after his beautiful wife, Queen Kapiolani. The 200 acres of lush trees, lawns, is parked next to Honolulu Zoo, below the slopes of Diamond Head, and across from Queen’s Surf Beach. read more » Tuesday, October 11, 2005
The 50th State Is The Center Of All Things Mac In The Pacific. Literally.
Hawaii is wired. Literally. Few areas on the mainland 48 states have as much broadband access as Honolulu, so high speed Internet access for Mac users is common. Honolulu is also home to the only Apple Store in the Pacific. read more » Thursday, August 12, 2004
We have museums in Hawaii for a reason. We have old stuff.
While Honolulu doesn’t have the historical prominence of, say, Europe, the Middle East, or Asia, there are plenty of entertaining historical sites to the city. Some are within walking distance of both Waikiki and Downtown. Regardless, they’re all… read more »
