Warning: Leave Hawaii’s Sand Alone. It’s Magic
It’s that “talcum powder” feel to the sand between your toes. Keep the sand at Lanikai, though. It’s bad luck (and illegal) to take it with you. One of the most pristine beaches on Oahu is lovely Lanikai Beach. Lanikai is a golden sandy that’s often considered to be mother nature’s talcum powder. Yes, it gets into everything. Your toes. Your nose. Your fingernails. Your ears. Hair. Clothes. No, you won’t mind in the least. It’s fun. Lanikai Beach is located on a turquoise lagoon with two small islands. It doesn’t look real (which is why you won’t mind having some of it stick to your clothes). There’s a giant saltwater pool, and gentle waves. That means Lanikai is one of the island’s safest beaches. “There won’t be many surfers here. And few crowds. The view is spectacular.”Lanikai as a word means “heavenly beach”. Heaven is where you’ll think you are after a picnic and skinny dip (just kidding) on this spectacular Oahu Windward beach. Of course, you don’t have to sit there like a lump on a log. Or a frog on a log. Or a log. You can walk along Lanikai Beach and get yourself (at least, your feet) back to nature. Stroll through the luxurious shoreline. Sink your toes in the sand. There won’t be many surfers here. And few crowds. The view is spectacular. You’ll see fish and waves. Then, later, you’ll see waves and fish. Not necessarily in that order. Regardless, you’ll definitely know that Lanikai is not your father’s ordinary beach. Is it one of the world’s best beaches? It is when you’re there. Want to know the best places to eat in Hawaii?
